The
Laredo Center for the Arts provides a variety of education
programs for the children and communities of Laredo/South
Texas. Funding from the Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust in 2002
allowed the Center to greatly expand our arts educational
offerings.

FESTIVALS
Showcasing
local heritage and local arts, the Center hosts festivals
including: Dia de los Muertos in October, the Laredo ISD
Arts Festival in January and the VMT Arts Festival in April and Cinco de Mayo Celebration in May.
GALLERY
TOURS
Tours
of current exhibitions are available year-round. Tailored
for each group, tours are led by trained leaders and may
include: discussions on the elements of art and principles
of design, artist biography, history of the Center, and
an activity. Reservations required. No fee. Donations are
welcome.
OUTREACH
VISITS
Professional artists and art educators bring art workshops
& presentations to classrooms and community groups,
broadening awareness of fine arts and art history.
A
VISIT MAY INCLUDE:
Demonstrations
of artistic techniques by professional artists and educators.
Slide show presentations that focus on art history, artist
biographies, and learning what materials to use and how
to use them.
