We are a non-profit organization that encourages self-expression through visual art, dance, music, literacy and theater. We believe that art is an essential part of any thriving community where the arts lift the spirit and raise the collective consciousness of every person. We collaborate with artists and artistic organizations in an effort to facilitate mutual support, recognition, and the exchanging of ideas. We also work to encourage a thriving community of artists and appreciation of art and facilitate classes, lectures, performances, and exhibits in an effort to enrich the lives of all citizens of Laredo and the surrounding areas. The Laredo Center for the Arts strives to unleash the artistic potential of every community member.

We are open Tuesday - Saturday from 11am - 4pm

Give us a call anytime, or just stop by.

Our doors in the Historic District of Downtown Laredo are open and it is FREE to enjoy the beautiful art in our galleries!

As is the case with most non-profit organizations, our staff is small. If you find our doors closed at the Bookstore --- please go to the main building at the Laredo Center for the Arts and someone will gladly open the bookstore for your shopping pleasure.  Our hours at the Center are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We have new arrivals on a variety of magazines including the always entertaining New Yorker, Martha Stewarts Living and back issues of National Geographic at very low prices.  Call Annaisabel Alvarez for more information on new arrivals.

All books are donated by local community supporters who know the importance of reading and encouraging our children to read.

The Laredo Center for the Arts has achieved many successes, and it is all thanks to the great community of volunteers, local businesses, corporate sponsors, generous donations and to our city leaders.  Without the selflessness that our great Laredoans embody, the Laredo Center for the Arts would not be the great place that it is today.
