LCA Raffle 2020

Dear Friend of the Arts,

I would first like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support over the years. Without you, much of what we do would not be possible. As you can imagine, 2020 has been an extraordinary year that has presented us with many challenges. I am very proud of Rosie Santos, our Executive Director, and the LCA staff for their efforts during these trying times to creatively keep the spirit of LCA alive in our community, however, our inability to operate as normal has taken its toll. It is for this reason, that I humbly write to you today to ask for your support once again in helping us keep the tradition of the ARTS alive in Laredo. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, the Laredo Center for the Arts’ mission is to create a cultural climate in which the artistic creativity of all people may find a voice. In order to execute our mission, LCA relies on funding from a variety of sources such as private foundations, individual donors, grants, our members, special events, and fundraisers.

We are proud to introduce our 2020 Virtual Art Raffle. This year’s artworks were graciously donated by some of the most coveted and talented artists from Laredo and around Texas. We applaud the participating artists for their commitment to the arts and their continued support of the Laredo Center for the Arts. Without the ongoing efforts of our board, talented artists, and supporters like you LCA would not succeed. Together, we can offer people of all ages and diverse backgrounds a platform to express themselves through the Arts.
Proceeds raised from our art raffle will be used towards LCA’s educational art programming that primarily focuses on the students from LISD, UISD, and other public and private schools from the surrounding area, exhibits, and maintaining our general operations. Your support will allow LCA to continue growing with new and exciting exhibits and stimulating cultural events that serve to inspire, motivate, and entertain Laredoans and visitors alike. Pablo Picasso once said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Given the type of year that 2020 has been, I think we can all agree that we could all use a little extra dusting right now, which is why your support is so important. We are eternally grateful to the 27 talented artists who unselfishly agreed to contribute their talents to this fundraiser.
I hope you will take the time from your busy schedules to review this catalog with photographs of the various pieces donated. Art Raffle winners will be announced during our Tequila Quarantine Virtual Fundraiser on Friday, December 4, 2020. Each raffle ticket is $25. Do not forget to purchase your tickets through our website before December 4, 2020.
The Laredo Center for the Arts is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible.
Once again, I thank you for your unwavering support in helping us keep The Laredo Center for the Arts as a symbol of vibrancy, creativity, and talent that exists in our city. Better days lie ahead, but in the meantime, stay safe and I hope to see soon you participate in our virtual events.

Sincerely,
Fernando Montemayor
Board President
