February Exhibits: 4th Annual Birds of the Brush Contest

The 2016 Laredo Birding Festival is coordinated by the environmental nonprofit organization known as Rio Grande International Study Center (RGISC). They have partnered with the City of Laredo’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, local Monte Mucho Audubon Society, and the Laredo Center for the Arts to bring you the opening reception to the festival and the 4th Annual Birds of the Brush art contest. It is designed to showcase how our vibrant Rio Grande eco-system attracts hundreds of species of dazzling birds, some of which migrate from as far away as Canada and the Central American tropics! The 4th Annual Birds of the Brush Art Contest has been one of the most successful community exhibits. This year LCA received over 300 submissions from students in elementary, middle, and high school as well as the community at large. The Laredo Center for the Arts will graciously host the exhibit opening and announcement of winners.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016 from 6-9pm at 500 San Agustin Ave. We hope that you will join us in this fun and unique community project. The event is free and open to the public.
